Second Edition - coming soon
After reading early reader reviews and suggestions, I have decided to make a few changes.
Mostly to the backstories of the characters Richard and Mel.
Mel’s family were never meant to represent actual travellers, but were in fact a cult to an ancient watery god. However on reading, this wasnt clear, her initial assumption that they were travellers, became their only real appearance in the story as the cultist revelation was bounced due to length into book 2, leaving the travellers appearing like randomly horrible travellers instead of specifically horrible cultists. Second edition revision has made it much more clear they are a cult and has moved the family from a gated caravan site to a remote fishing village to really make it clear these are not in any way supposed to represent actual travellers.
Richard’s traumatic backstory was really one trauma too many for the book and was taking away from other elements in the story. His family as still Nigerian and Christian, but are now more supportive and loving. His need to run away is now due to them choosing to relocate back to Nigeria and him wanting to stay with Mel. This will allow for us to meet his family in book 2 with less baggage and more fun to be had as they meet Krys and the others.
Honestly I think these rewrites have made their relationship and the story stronger.
If you have purchased a copy of the first edition I will issue with a discount code to enable you to purchase the second edition at a much reduced price. Or you may choose to return your first edition and I will replace it with a Second edition as soon as these are available.
I appreciate all the love and support I have received for the book in its current format. There is nothing inherently wrong with it. But that I jumped the gun with wanting to get it finsihed and published and need to recognise that sometimes these things are a work in progress.
Book 2 writing is continuing apace :)
